Empowering disadvantaged young women in Iran

Farzaneh's Journey

Farzaneh came here when she was 16 from a juvenile detention center. The baby born after she was raped by her brother-in-law had been taken away from her and put into care.

She was in such a bad state that she had been mistakenly diagnosed as psychotic. But after some time at the center, Farzaneh was able to join our program.

Farzaneh is staying at the center's residential home and progressing in art and English. We have located her two year-old son and she visits him regularly.

Farzaneh is a very enthusiastic and energetic young lady who always wears a distinctive, big smile despite the trauma she experienced before joining the Omid-e-Mehr center. Farzaneh's teacher

Our center

We have already raised an amazing $383,000 but we still need a further $97,000 to open the new Omid-e-Mehr center. If 323 of our supporters can give just $25 a month, we'll be well on our way to reaching making our vision a reality.
